What is TinyTalk?
TinyTalk is a screening and tracking tool that analyzes short recordings of your toddler to compare their speech and language against CDC/ASHA-aligned developmental milestones, and suggest play-based activities you can try at home.
Is TinyTalk a replacement for a speech-language pathologist (SLP)?
No. TinyTalk is an educational tool — not a medical device and not a diagnosis. If TinyTalk (or your gut) flags concerns, we help you find and prepare for an evaluation with a licensed SLP or your pediatrician.
How does a screening work?
You record a 2–3 minute clip of your child playing, talking, or naming things. TinyTalk transcribes the audio, measures things like vocabulary, mean length of utterance, and intelligibility, and compares them to CDC/ASHA age-based milestones.
What ages does TinyTalk support?
TinyTalk is designed for toddlers and preschoolers roughly 12 months through 6 years, with milestone bands aligned to CDC and ASHA developmental references.
Are the milestones based on real clinical guidance?
Yes. TinyTalk maps its milestone checks to publicly available CDC 'Learn the Signs. Act Early.' milestones and ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) communication benchmarks. We use these as reference points, not as a substitute for a licensed professional's evaluation.
How accurate is the transcription?
Toddler speech is hard even for humans. Accuracy is typically around 75–85% for clear recordings; noisier environments or very early speech will be lower. That's why milestone comparisons against CDC/ASHA norms are the primary signal, not raw word counts.
What's free and what's paid?
Free accounts get a monthly screening with a free preview report. Full reports are available as a one-time purchase, and a Pro subscription unlocks unlimited screenings, progress tracking, saved activity plans, and priority analysis.
Can my spouse or another caregiver see the same account?
Yes. From your dashboard, tap Share on a child to send a viewer-only or full co-parent invite link. Billing always stays with the original account.
Can I share a report with my pediatrician or SLP?
Yes. From any completed report you can create a secure, read-only share link, or print/save it as a PDF to bring to appointments. Keep in mind the report is an educational screening aid based on a short recording — not a clinical document or diagnosis. It's best used as a conversation starter, not a replacement for the provider's own evaluation.
What about my child's privacy?
Recordings and reports are private to your account and anyone you explicitly invite. We do not sell your data. You can delete a recording, a child profile, or your entire account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
My child is bilingual — will the results be fair?
Yes. You tell us your child's primary language and whether your home is multilingual, and the analysis and activity suggestions account for that context.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Something isn't working. How do I get help?
