Privacy Policy

TinyTalk ("we", "us") helps parents track and understand their toddler's early speech and language development. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written by the TinyTalk team for our users; it is not legal advice.

Children's Privacy & COPPA

TinyTalk is a service for parents and legal guardians, not for children. A child never creates their own account, signs in, or uses the app directly. All child information — including voice recordings — is collected and reviewed by the parent/account holder.

• Verifiable parental consent. Before you can record your child, you must confirm at signup that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent to TinyTalk processing your child's voice recordings for the purpose of speech-milestone screening. We store the timestamp of that consent on your account.
• What we collect about your child. First name, date of birth, gender (optional), primary language, bilingual status, short voice recordings you upload, any words you tick on the parent-report checklist, and the screening reports we generate from those inputs.
• How child data is used. Solely to generate the speech screening report, activity suggestions, and progress tracking for that child inside your own account. Child audio is never used to train third-party AI models and is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
• Retention. Audio recordings are stored while your account is active so you can re-open past reports; you can delete any recording (and the report generated from it) at any time from the app. Deleting your account removes all child profiles, recordings, and reports from our active systems; encrypted backups age out on their normal cycle (typically within 30 days).
• Your rights as a parent. You can review, export, or delete your child's data at any time — from within the app or by writing to support@mytinytalk.com. We respond to verified parental requests within 30 days. You may also refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information by deleting the child profile or your account.
• No ad tracking on child data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, analytics fingerprinting, or behavioral advertising SDKs on any surface that displays child data.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email, name, and password (stored hashed).
• Child profile information you enter — first name, date of birth, gender (optional), primary language, and bilingual status.
• Screening recordings — the short audio clips you upload of your child speaking or playing.
• Analysis results — transcripts, milestone comparisons, activity suggestions, and reports we generate from your recordings.
• Usage information — basic, privacy-respecting product analytics (pages viewed, actions taken, device/browser type) so we can operate and improve the service. We honor "Do Not Track".

How we use information

• To generate speech and language reports, activity suggestions, and progress tracking for your child.
• To operate your account, process payments and subscriptions, and provide customer support.
• To improve accuracy, performance, and safety of the product.
• To send you service-related messages (e.g. report ready, receipt, security alerts, baseline reminders).

How we share information

We do not sell your data. We share information only with vendors that help us run TinyTalk — for example, cloud hosting, database and authentication providers, AI transcription and analysis providers, email delivery, and payment processing. These vendors are bound by contract to use the data only to provide services to us and cannot use child audio for their own model training or marketing.

If you generate a shareable link (for a report, favorites list, or child access invite), anyone with that link can see the linked content until you revoke it.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual recordings, reports, or your entire account. When you delete your account we remove associated child profiles, recordings, and reports from our active systems; backups age out on their normal cycle.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel under least-privilege access controls. Row-level security enforces that each family can only access their own child records. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your choices

• Access, correct, or delete your profile and child data from within the app.
• Revoke shared links at any time.
• Switch the app language between English and Spanish in Settings.
• Cancel your subscription from your account settings.
• Contact us to request a copy or deletion of your data.

Not a medical device

TinyTalk is an educational screening and tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose speech, language, hearing, or developmental conditions. If you have concerns about your child, consult your pediatrician or a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
